Privacy policy

Last updated

Verdictify is a static review site. We don't ask you to sign in, we don't build personal profiles, and we never sell your data. The only thing we meaningfully measure is whether a click on an affiliate link came from us — a count, not a dossier on you.

What we collect — and what we don't

The site itself is a set of static pages. There are no accounts, no login, no newsletter wall, and no comment system, so there is nothing here that asks you to hand over personal information to read a review.

The one thing we do measure is affiliate referral attribution. When you follow a recommendation, the outbound link routes through our /go redirect so a partner can credit the resulting sale to us. That records the click — which link, when, and enough context to prove the referral — not a profile of who you are. Like any web server, our hosting may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and user-agent) for security and to keep the site running; we don't use those to track you across the web or build an advertising profile.

Cookies & local storage

We don't set cookies to personalize what you see or to follow you around the internet. The one preference we remember is your light or dark theme, and we keep it in your own browser using local storage under the key vf-theme. That value never leaves your device, isn't a tracking cookie, and you can clear it any time through your browser settings.

Affiliate links & third parties

Some of our links are affiliate links. When you click through to a partner or an affiliate network, that company may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy — which we don't control. Once you leave Verdictify, you're on their site and their terms.

We keep these arrangements transparent. Read our affiliate disclosure for exactly how affiliate links, commissions, and the /go redirect work, and why they never influence a verdict.

We don't sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We're funded by affiliate commissions on genuine recommendations — not by monetizing an audience profile. There is no data broker on the other side of this site.

Where this applies

Verdictify serves readers in the United States, New Zealand, and Australia, and this policy is written for those markets. It is not designed for, or targeted at, the European Union, so it is not built to the GDPR standard. We'd rather say that plainly than imply protections we don't provide.
